      Feb 13, 2007

Tamarack, ID—The country's greatest snowboard competition series, the 2007 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, is on the way to Idaho for its season finale. Set to compete are Olympic and X Games medalists Gretchen Bleiler (Aspen, CO), Steve Fisher (Breckenridge, CO), Scotty Lago (Seabrook, NH), Seth Wescott (Carrabassett Valley, ME) and Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton Mountain, VT) as Tamarack Resort hosts both halfpipe and snowboardcross on February 24-25.

Athletes will compete in the tour's only snowboardcross event this year, and in a massive 22-foot high SuperPipe, the first of its size for the Grand Prix. The competition fields will be approximately 90 men and 40 women in the SuperPipe, and 100 men and 30 women in the snowboardcross.

As the last competition of the tour, the overall Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix halfpipe winners will be determined and will drive away with a new Chevy truck. Last year's overall winners were Olympic medalists Shaun White (Carlsbad, CA) and Bleiler. The Grand Prix also will host the Visa U.S. Snowboardcross Championships, where the best in the U.S. will be crowned.

The event is FREE to spectators, and the SuperPipe and snowboardcross finish are both located within walking distance of Tamarack's Discovery Square and the Event Sponsorship Village. Those buying Tamarack lift tickets will be able to view the snowboardcross course from higher up on the mountain.

In addition to the finals on the February 24 and 25, there are opportunities to catch the competitive action during practice and qualifiers on the 22 and 23. (See attached schedule)

Spectators are encouraged to carpool or ride Tamarack shuttles to the resort, since parking will be limited. Boise-to-Tamarack shuttles will run February 23-25. The resort will also operate shuttles on a regular schedule from McCall, Cascade and Donnelly throughout the competition. (See attached schedule)

Millions of eyes will be on Tamarack and Idaho when the event is broadcast on Versus Network on March 4 at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. (MST), and on NBC on March 10 at noon (MST).
