Rome Announces Artifact SK Contest Winners

This past winter, the Rome SDS asked shops kids to create a new three-word phrase for the Artifact SK (Shop Kid) to replace the “Live Nude Girls” base graphic of the 2009 inline Artifact. Thanks to riders from all over the world, amazingly lewd and lascivious ideas poured in, and Rome had a bitch of a time picking the winners of the Artifact SK contest.

NEW YORK – July 14, 2008 – The AST, the umbrella brand and organization of today’s most prestigious action sports events, today announced the host resorts and dates for the three stops of the inaugural AST Winter Dew Tour. The Winter Tour, which will feature freeskiing and snowboarding disciplines for both men and women, kicks off at Breckenridge Ski Resort in Breckenridge, Colo., Dec. 18-21, 2008 continues at Mount Snow Resort in West Dover, Vt., Jan. 8-11, 2009 and concludes at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort in Lake Tahoe, Calif., Feb. 19-22, 2009.

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (July 11, 2008) - Some of the biggest names in international snowboarding are making their way to Wanaka, New Zealand for the sixth Burton New Zealand Open Snowboarding Championships (NZO), which kicks off on July 29 at Snow Park NZ. The NZO is the first event of this season’s Burton Global Open Series (BGOS), the most prestigious series of global competitive snowboarding events playing out on five continents where the top male and female champions claim a title worth USD$100,000. The New Zealand Open is also the first stop of the 08/09 Swatch TTR World Tour, the largest group of independent freestyle snowboard events in the world.

Snow Park NZ has been building New Zealand’s only permanent quarterpipe this week to host the first daytime event of the season, the Electric Quarterpipe Battle held this Saturday, July 12. The event is a free-to-enter jam style competition for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels. Riders and skiers will be judged on style and amplitude and will be vying for a $2,000 cash prize pool and $6,000 of Electric, Union and Snow Park NZ products.
